Ingredients
Scale
Pizza Rolls
- 1 bag (approx. 25–40 pieces) frozen pizza rolls (any brand)
- 1 package refrigerated egg roll wrappers or wonton wrappers
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce or marinara
- 3/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped pepperoni or cooked sausage (optional)
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
- 1 egg, beaten (for sealing)
Instructions
- Prepare the Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded mozzarella cheese, chopped pepperoni or cooked sausage if using, and Italian seasoning. Mix well to evenly distribute the flavors.
- Fill the Wrappers: Lay out your egg roll or wonton wrappers flat on a clean surface. Place a small spoonful of the pizza sauce in the center of each wrapper, then add a spoonful of the cheese and meat mixture on top of the sauce, careful not to overfill.
- Seal the Rolls: Lightly brush the edges of the wrappers with the beaten egg. Fold the wrappers over the filling to form rolls, pressing the edges firmly to seal and prevent leakage during cooking.
- Preheat the Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and let it preheat for about 3 minutes to ensure even cooking and crispiness.
- Air Fry the Pizza Rolls: Place the rolls in a single layer inside the air fryer basket, making sure they are not touching to allow air to circulate properly. Cook for 7 to 8 minutes, turning halfway through for even browning, until the outside is golden brown and crispy and the cheese inside is melted and gooey.
- Serve and Enjoy: Carefully remove the pizza rolls from the air fryer using tongs and let them cool for a minute or two. Serve warm with extra pizza sauce or marinara for dipping.
Notes
- Do not overfill the wrappers to prevent bursting during cooking.
- You can substitute pepperoni with cooked sausage, mushrooms, or other favorite pizza toppings.
- If you don’t have an air fryer, you can bake these in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 10-12 minutes.
- For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes to the filling mixture.
- Store any leftovers in an airtight container and reheat in the air fryer for best results.
