Ingredients
Scale
Main Ingredients
- 12 ounce wheel of brie
- ¼ cup apricot jam
- 1 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme
- 2 tablespoons toasted pecans
- Flaky sea salt (optional, for topping)
- Honey (optional, for drizzling)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a small baking sheet with a piece of parchment paper that’s at least 2 inches larger than the brie wheel on all sides.
- Score the Brie: Using a paring knife, carefully slice a criss cross pattern on the top rind of the brie. This allows the flavors to penetrate and the cheese to melt evenly.
- Add Apricot Jam and Thyme: Spoon the apricot jam evenly over the top of the brie, then sprinkle the chopped fresh thyme on top to add an herby aroma and flavor.
- Bake the Brie: Place the brie on the prepared baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is softened and melted inside.
- Garnish and Serve: Carefully transfer the warm brie on the parchment paper to a serving tray. Top with toasted pecans, a drizzle of honey, and a sprinkle of flaky sea salt if desired. Serve immediately with crackers or fruit.
Notes
- Use a high-quality brie wheel for the creamiest texture and best flavor.
- To toast pecans, heat them in a dry skillet over medium heat for 3-4 minutes until fragrant, stirring frequently to avoid burning.
- Optional: Serve with an assortment of crackers, sliced apples, pears, or grapes for a complete appetizer platter.
- Allow the baked brie to cool slightly before serving to avoid burning your mouth on the hot cheese.
