Scale
Birria Tacos Ingredients
- 2 Tablespoons Vegetable Oil
- 14 Corn tortillas
- 1/2 White onion, diced
- 1/2 cup Chopped cilantro
- Lime wedges, for serving
- Shredded birria meat (quantity to fill 14 tacos, approx. 3-4 cups)
- Birria sauce (enough to dip and coat tortillas, about 1-2 cups)
Instructions
- Heat the skillet: Drizzle 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil into a large skillet and heat it over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- Prepare the tortillas: Dip each corn tortilla briefly into the birria sauce, ensuring it is well coated, then place it into the hot skillet.
- Add the filling and fry: Immediately top the coated tortilla with shredded birria meat. Fold the tortilla over to form a taco and fry for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the tortilla is crisp and golden brown.
- Serve: Remove the tacos from the skillet and serve hot, garnished with diced white onions, chopped cilantro, and lime wedges. Optionally, serve with extra birria sauce for dipping.
Notes
- Use freshly made birria sauce and cooked birria meat for the best flavor.
- Dipping the tortillas in sauce before frying creates a flavorful, crispy shell.
- Adjust the amount of birria meat to your preference but ensure enough to fill each taco.
- Serve immediately for best texture and taste.
- Use vegetable oil or another neutral oil suitable for frying.
