Description
This Crispiest Air Fryer Gnocchi recipe transforms soft potato gnocchi into a golden, crunchy delight with minimal effort. Coated in fragrant herbs and garlic powder, then air fried to perfection, it’s a quick and tasty dish perfect as a snack or a side.
Ingredients
Scale
Gnocchi
- 1 pound potato gnocchi (store-bought or homemade)
Seasoning & Garnish
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried Italian herbs (oregano, basil, thyme blend)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Freshly grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
- Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes to prepare for cooking the gnocchi evenly.
- Toss Gnocchi: In a mixing bowl, combine the potato gnocchi with olive oil, garlic powder, dried Italian herbs, salt, and pepper. Toss until every piece is evenly coated with the seasoning mixture.
- Arrange Gnocchi: Place the seasoned gnocchi in a single layer inside the air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding the basket to ensure each piece crisps evenly. Cook in batches if necessary.
- Air Fry: Cook the gnocchi for 10-12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through the cooking time. This helps achieve even golden, crispy edges on all sides.
- Serve: Once crispy and golden, remove the gnocchi from the air fryer. Optionally, sprinkle with freshly grated Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley. Serve immediately for the best crispy texture.
Notes
- For even crispier gnocchi, avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket and cook in batches if needed.
- Store-bought or homemade gnocchi both work well, but fresh gnocchi may crisp up better.
- Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley add flavor and visual appeal but can be omitted for a dairy-free or simpler version.
- Adjust garlic powder and herbs to taste depending on your preference.
- Serve immediately, as the gnocchi can lose crispness if left to sit.
