Description

These Gummy Worm Jello Cups are a fun and colorful dessert perfect for kids’ parties or any playful occasion. Lime-flavored Jell-O is set in individual cups with gummy worms creatively hanging on the edges, topped with whipped cream and sprinkles for an extra festive touch. Easy to make and delightfully wiggly, these treats are sure to bring smiles to the table.

Ingredients

Scale

Jello Mixture

  • 6 oz Lime Jell-O mix
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 2 cups cold water

Toppings

  • Gummy worms
  • Whipped cream
  • Sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Dissolve Jell-O Mix: In a heatproof bowl, dissolve the 6 oz of lime Jell-O mix completely in 2 cups of boiling water, stirring well to ensure there are no granules left.
  2. Add Cold Water and Pour: Stir in 2 cups of cold water to the dissolved mixture. Pour the liquid evenly into plastic cups, filling each as desired.
  3. Initial Refrigeration: Place the cups in the refrigerator and chill for about 30 minutes, or until the Jell-O has started to set but is not fully firm.
  4. Add Gummy Worms: Hang gummy worms over the edges of each cup by pressing them lightly on the semi-set Jell-O surface. Return the cups to the refrigerator.
  5. Second Chill and Additional Worms: Refrigerate for another 30 minutes to allow the Jell-O to firm up further. Optionally, add more gummy worms inside the Jell-O before it fully sets for added fun.
  6. Final Setting: Chill the cups until the Jell-O is completely firm, typically another 30 minutes to 1 hour.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Once fully set, top each cup with a dollop of whipped cream and sprinkle colorful sprinkles on top just before serving to add sweetness and decoration.

Notes

  • Use plastic cups that are sturdy to avoid spills and help with easy serving.
  • For a more intense flavor, you can use flavored gelatin like lime or lemon-lime.
  • Optional: Add small candies or fruit pieces inside the Jell-O before setting for extra texture and taste.
  • Make sure gummy worms are fresh to prevent sticking or color bleeding into the Jell-O.
  • Chilling times may vary depending on your refrigerator settings; ensure Jell-O is fully set before serving.
