Description

This vibrant Orange Marmalade recipe captures the bright, tangy flavors of fresh oranges balanced with a hint of lemon. Perfectly sweetened and simmered to a luscious preserve, it’s ideal for spreading on toast, adding to desserts, or gifting to loved ones.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 4 Medium Oranges
  • 4 Cups White Granulated Sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons Lemon Juice
  • 1 Tablespoon Lemon Zest
  • â…“ Cup Water

Instructions

  1. Prepare the oranges: Chop the ends off your oranges and cut each into eighths to facilitate easier processing.
  2. Chop the oranges: Place the orange pieces in a food processor and chop them for about 30 seconds until finely minced, creating a uniform base.
  3. Combine ingredients: Transfer the minced oranges into a medium or large sauce pot along with the lemon juice, lemon zest, sugar, and water, stirring to combine everything evenly.
  4. Cook the marmalade: Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring intermittently, and bring it to 220°F (104°C). Once reached, let it simmer at this temperature for 2 minutes to achieve the proper consistency.
  5. Cool slightly: Remove the pot from heat and let the marmalade cool for a couple of minutes before handling.
  6. Jar the marmalade: Pour the marmalade into sterilized jars and put the lids on securely.
  7. Room temperature set: Leave the jars on the counter to cool to room temperature. Once cooled, retighten the lids to ensure a good seal.
  8. Refrigerate and enjoy: Place the jars in the refrigerator overnight to fully set. The marmalade is then ready to enjoy.

Notes

  • Ensure jars are sterilized before filling to prolong shelf life.
  • Use a candy thermometer to precisely monitor the temperature for perfect consistency.
  • The marmalade can be stored refrigerated for several weeks.
  • Adjust sugar amount slightly if you prefer a less sweet marmalade.
