Ingredients
Scale
Bread
- 4 slices of bread (white or whole wheat, preferably thick-sliced)
Filling & Topping
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon sugar (optional, for extra sweetness)
- A pinch of salt (optional, to enhance flavor)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Prepare Bread: Trim the crusts off the bread slices and optionally flatten them gently with a rolling pin to make rolling easier. Cut each slice into halves or quarters depending on the desired roll-up size.
- Mix Cinnamon Sugar: In a small bowl, combine ground cinnamon, sugar (if using), and a pinch of salt, mixing well to create the cinnamon-sugar blend.
- Butter and Honey Bread: Brush each piece of bread generously with melted butter, then drizzle a small amount of honey over each. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly on top of the honeyed bread pieces.
- Roll Bread Pieces: Carefully roll each piece of bread into a tight log starting from one edge. Place each roll-up seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet to maintain shape while baking.
- Bake: Bake the roll-ups in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes until they turn golden brown and crispy on the outside.
- Cool and Serve: Allow the roll-ups to cool slightly before serving. Optionally, drizzle with additional honey for extra sweetness and flavor.
Notes
- Using thick-sliced bread helps achieve a better roll and texture.
- Flattening the bread with a rolling pin helps to roll more tightly and evenly.
- Sugar is optional and can be adjusted based on desired sweetness.
- For a dairy-free version, substitute butter with a plant-based alternative.
- Serve warm for the best texture and flavor experience.
