Description

Mint Oreo Truffles are a delightful no-bake treat combining crushed mint-flavored Oreo cookies with creamy cream cheese, coated in smooth white chocolate and optionally drizzled with dark chocolate. Perfect for a refreshing, bite-sized dessert that’s easy to make and impressively delicious.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 24 Mint Oreo cookies
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 10 oz white chocolate or vanilla candy melts
  • 2 oz semi-sweet or dark chocolate (for drizzle, optional)
  • 2 tbsp crushed Oreo crumbs (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Crush the Cookies: Add the mint Oreo cookies to a food processor and pulse into fine crumbs. If you don’t have a food processor, place the cookies in a zip-top bag and crush them with a rolling pin until finely ground.
  2. Mix with Cream Cheese: In a large bowl, combine the crushed cookie crumbs with the softened cream cheese. Mix thoroughly until the mixture is smooth and fully combined.
  3. Form Truffle Balls: Use a small scoop or spoon to shape the mixture into 1-inch balls. Place them evenly spaced on a parchment-lined tray to prevent sticking.
  4. Chill the Balls: Refrigerate the truffle balls for 30 minutes to allow them to firm up and hold their shape better for dipping.
  5. Melt White Chocolate: Following the package instructions, melt the white chocolate or candy melts until smooth and ready for dipping.
  6. Dip Truffles: Using a fork or dipping tool, dip each chilled truffle ball into the melted white chocolate, making sure to coat it completely. Allow the excess chocolate to drip off before returning each truffle to the parchment-lined tray.
  7. Drizzle Dark Chocolate and Add Topping: Melt the semi-sweet or dark chocolate and drizzle it over the coated truffles. Before the drizzle sets, sprinkle the crushed Oreo crumbs over the top of each truffle for added texture and decoration.
  8. Set and Serve: Let the truffles sit at room temperature or refrigerate them until the chocolate hardens fully. Once set, serve immediately or store in an airtight container for later enjoyment.

Notes

  • For a smoother texture, ensure the cream cheese is softened to room temperature before mixing.
  • If you prefer, you can use different flavored Oreos, but mint gives a refreshing contrast to the white chocolate.
  • Store the truffles in the refrigerator to keep them firm, especially in warmer climates.
  • Use a small scoop to form uniform truffle sizes for even coating and presentation.
  • These truffles can be made a day ahead; just keep them refrigerated until serving.
