Description

This One-Pot Creamy Spicy Garlic Butter Steak & Pasta is a deliciously rich and comforting dish combining tender steak strips with perfectly cooked pasta in a creamy, garlicky sauce with a spicy kick from red pepper flakes. It’s an easy, all-in-one meal that requires minimal cleanup and is perfect for dinner any night of the week.

Ingredients

Scale

Protein

  • 1 lb (450g) steak strips

Pasta & Dairy

  • 8 oz (225g) pasta of your choice
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Liquids & Oils

  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Spices & Aromatics

  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Garnish

  • Fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Season the Steak: Begin by seasoning the steak strips with salt and pepper according to your taste preference to ensure the meat is flavorful.
  2. Brown the Steak: Heat olive oil in a large pot or high-walled skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steak strips and cook until they are nicely browned on all sides. Remove the steak from the pot and set aside.
  3. Sauté Garlic and Spices: In the same pot, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing until the garlic becomes fragrant and lightly golden, which imparts a deep garlic flavor and gentle heat.
  4. Deglaze the Pot: Pour in the beef broth and bring to a simmer, scraping the bottom of the pot to release all the browned bits which add rich flavor to the sauce.
  5. Add Cream and Cook Pasta: Stir in the heavy cream and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Add the pasta, making sure it is submerged in the liquid. Cover the pot and cook, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is al dente, about 10-12 minutes.
  6. Melt the Cheese: Turn off the heat and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until the sauce becomes creamy and smooth, coating the pasta well.
  7. Combine Steak and Sauce: Return the browned steak strips to the pot. Stir them into the creamy pasta sauce until well coated and heated through.
  8. Adjust Seasoning: Taste and adjust seasoning by adding more salt, pepper, or red pepper flakes if desired to suit your preference.
  9. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle freshly chopped parsley on top for a bright, fresh garnish and serve immediately while hot.

Notes

  • Use a high-walled skillet or large pot to accommodate all ingredients and prevent spills while cooking.
  • If you prefer less spice, reduce or omit the red pepper flakes.
  • Substitute heavy cream with half-and-half or a dairy-free alternative for a lighter or lactose-free version.
  • For added vegetables, consider stirring in spinach or mushrooms during the cream simmer stage.
  • Ensure pasta is fully submerged in liquid during cooking to prevent sticking or uneven cooking.
